"I have passion in a few areas which include studying, playing basketball and piano. First of all, I am not the type who studies the whole day, but I try to strike a balance between work and play, while gaining benefits from both. Basketball has given me freedom on the court. But it also taught me that freedom may not mean that it is good because when you have freedom, you are faced with many choices, like on the basketball court, when you have the ball, what move should you take? To shoot or to pass? Which choice is better? So it has helped me to make choices better by judging the situation and getting information before hand. Whenever I score a point in basketball, it gives me the sense of achievement because I feel that everything I do is worthwhile, and my vision is clear of what I want to achieve. Besides basketball, I have passion in piano as well. You may always see me playing the piano in the school foyer. Despite having heavy workload in year 4, I will always try to make time out for piano, because it is my passion, it is something I will make sacrifices for. In school, I will seize any opportunity I have to practice. Piano is a way of expressing my inners self, and it is also a way to release stress. When I play the piano, I completely indulge in it and it brings me to a new innovation, to a new insight and image of life. Whenever I indulge in music, I tend to feel the music, the mood that the piece creates. To me, piano is something beautiful, it is something that you can be gentler with at times while forceful and precise. Because of my passion in piano, it has trained me to persevere as well. Whenever I practice, I will make sure that each note is precisely played with the correct dynamic. It applies to the same to life as well, when we have made the choice, we play whatever cards we have at hand, and we make the best out of it. "
Haha. An excerpt from my portfolio.
